Police in Lincolnshire responded to a recent 999 call only to find a cat had made it! According to a report in the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, the police in Holbeach received not one, but three emergency calls from Dave Edwards in the middle of the night. But when they rushed to his house, a red-faced Dave had to admit that Monty, his seven year-old tabby, had made the calls while Dave was asleep in bed upstairs!
'It was 2am and I was fast asleep when I heard the dogs barking. I got out of bed and saw two policeman shining torches into my window. When they said they had had three 999 calls, I realised it must have been Monty because he sleeps on the phone,' explained Dave. 'Monty is quite a character and he always likes to sleep on the phone because it is warm.'
In fact, Monty apparently likes to sleep on anything that is electrical and warm, leaving Dave with no option but to place a bread bin over the phone from now on to stop Monty from making any more midnight cat-calls.
