Confused Snake!

A while ago the light in my snakes tank went out in a power cut - now my snake is awake at all the wrong times of day - even though I have reset the clock and the light comes on as it is supposed to. I love owning him, but he's not much fun sleeping all day! Any suggestions how I can encourage him to be lively during the day?!

What type of snake is it? some snakes are naturally nocturnal and if it is a young snake you have that's been out during the day it may become more nocturnal as it matures.
