IT WAS THANKSGIVING LAST WEEK AND MY WIFE AND I GAVE OUR CHOCOLATE LAB A COMBINATION OF WET DOG FOOD MIXED IN WITH HIS DRY DOG FOOD. WE HAVE DONE THIS IN THE PAST SEVERAL TIMES. THE NEXT DAY THE DOG ATE IN THE MORNING AND EVENING AS USUAL. THE 2ND DAY THOUGH THE DOG WOULD LOOK AT ME LIKE I WAS FROM ANOTHER PLANET WHEN I TRIED TO FEED HIM HIS NORMAL FOOD THAT HE HAS EATEN FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS.
HE PUTS THE FOOD IN HIS MOUTH, THEN SPITS IT OUT. HE HAS THE SAME TEMPERMENT THAT HE HAS ALWAYS HAD AND HE HAS HAD NORMAL BOWEL MOVEMENTS EVEN THOUGH HE HAS NOT EATEN A FULL BOWL OF FOOD OVER THE PAST 2 DAYS.
WE HAVE TALKED TO HIS VET AND WE WERE TOLD TO BRING HIM IN IN A FEW DAYS IF THE PROBLEM PERSITS. ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Our dogs have been eating wet food (a tablespoon or two) with their very basic dried muesli type food for several years, they also have scraps quite often. They are 10 years old, mongrels and are fit and healthy. I don't think that giving them wet food is a problem at all

We have a 12 year old English Setter we have always given her a little wet food with the dry food just for a little more taste but last week because she had been unwell we added a little warm gravy which made her woof down her food with evan more eagerness now she will not eat her meals without the gravy ?But No problem .

I know this might be a bit late, but at the end of the day if your dog is offered better food (human food) it will hold out until it gets it.The best thing is to keep offering it its normal food and it will eventually eat it when its hungary, otherwise it will cause problems for you in the future.
