My 3 year old Border Collie, Molly, has developed epilepsy. My vet started her on treatment with Phenobarbital and Potassium Bromide, and her seizures seemd under control after several dosage adjustments. Over the past 2 weeks she became increasingly lethargic, until finally she was just semi-conscious. The vet gave her emergency treatment and said it was a reacion to the medication, and took her off all tablets. Last night she had 8 seizures in as many hours, and is now back in the vet hospital. Does anyone have experience of successful treatment for epilepsy, as at the moment Molly's future looks very bleak?

Thanks for your reply. The third site you suggest offers some reassurance. This problem has been going on since January and the quality of Molly's life has been severely compromised. Has anyone out there had similar experience?
