hi everyone, new to this as wanted some advice to help my pup! he is 9 weeks old, a labrador and has been with us in his new home for a week.
He has been great at nights, tells us when he wants out etc no complaints there. Lately though he has been scratching himself to a point where he is constantly crying. he cant get to sleep at night now either.
This started on wednesday during the day. He got his first jag on monday so i assumed it was a reaction to this, so the vet gave him an injection which seemed to help. I also gave him Piriton.. The same thing started to happen again last night after being fine all day yesterday. He is now being sick and has not eaten this morning which is not like him at all.
He was near a young girl who had chicken pox on sunday and he now has some red blotches on his skin... can dogs catch this or is there some other form of it that he may have??
Please help as I am heart broken that i cant help him.
thanks

Hello, my wife had a very similar problem with a lab puppy when she was a child. The advise from the vet was that the puppy was feeling lonely and missing her mother, and he suggested that by putting an old ticking alarm clock in bed with the puppy this would simulate the sensation of the mothers heartbeat. Apparently it did the trick!! Good Luck!
