Hi
I recently got a cat from a shelter and she seemed to be settling in very well. Recently she has started using my bed as her toliet instead of using the litter tray (i have moved the litter tray to just outside the front door).. is there a way that I can encourage her to use the litter tray instead of my bed! I am getting fed up of dry-cleaning my duvet every week!
A friend has suggested the following website -http://www.joybies.com/pagecat.html
Has anyone tried this?

I'm not at all sure about those at all other than she will probably dislike them. You know what cats can be like.
The only thing I'd suggest is putting the litter tray near your room and slowly move it nearer and nearer the front door and then finally outside again. Though make sure you do it slowly or you may be back to square 1. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

Oh my goodness - how amazing. I can't imagine ever getting hold of my daughter's cat long enough to put his piddle pants on him - what's it like when you take them off? Could be really unpleasant. I would put the litter tray back where it used to be and see if that sorts the problem out? Then move it gradually further and further away perhaps?

Thanks for your advice. We shut the doors to the bedroom for ages so Maisie didn't have a chance to do her business - and it seems to have worked. She is now allowed in the bedroom and so far there has been no accidents.. I am just wondering how long this will last..

I had a cat that would use my bedroom as his toilet. I talked to his vet and he told me that I should put my cat in a good sized room with his litter box and all the things he needs and also put any feces or anything in the litter box as well and he should get used to it.
Cats will continue to go to the bathroom in the area that they aren't supposed to if they smell their scent. I would clean the area really good.
