Question:

Flies keep bothering my dog and occasionally they bite his ears. What do you suggest I do about this?

Answer:

This is an unusual complaint. I wonder whether your dog may have an ear infection that is a little smelly and is attracting flies. You should take him to be examined by your vet, who may feel that some medication is necessary. Perhaps it will help stop the flies biting if you treat him with a flea control that spreads out through the coat and kills fleas by direct contact; it will have the same effect on flies.
