Leading veterinary charity, PDSA, is set to boost its fundraising kitty, with the launch the first ever charity mobile phone pay-as-you-go SIM card, the PDSA Dog and Bone.

PDSA in conjunction with Nomi Mobile, has launched the new SIM cards to raise funds for its free veterinary services for pets in need of vets.

For every PDSA Dog and Bone £5 top-up card sold, £1.50 is ploughed back into free veterinary services for sick and injured pets. While stocks last, customers will get a free PDSA Dog and Bone SIM card with every £5 top-up purchased in store. SIMs and top-ups can be bought on-line at www.pdsa.org.uk, or in the charity's 179 shops UK-wide. Top-ups can also be purchsed at 80,000 premises nationwide. The charity receives up to 10% of any top-up income generated so the more you converse, the more goes in to PDSA's purse to treat sick and injured pets.

An added bonus for animal lovers is that the sim cards also offer some of the most competitive call rates on the market - UK call rates, at just 15p a minute to other mobiles, 13p to landlines and 9p for texts and even calls to Australia for under 1p a minute.

PDSA Head of Trading, David Facer, said the initiative was the latest step in the charity's transformation of its stores and underpinned its drive to give customers exceptional value for money while supporting a good cause.

'PDSA Dog and Bone' subscribers can transfer over their existing numbers and track calls and costs via Nomi Mobile's real time on-line account management. PDSA Dog and Bone cards can be topped-up in denominations of £5, £10 and £20.
