Next month sees the return of London Animal Day, now in its 72nd year, and its Patron, Eastenders star Pam St Clement, is calling on all animal lovers to support the annual fundraising initiative.
Pam is encouraging animal lovers to become volunteer collectors for one of the seven animal charities involved, PDSA, The Blue Cross, RSPCA, Wood Green Animal Shelters, Friends of Animal League, The Mayhew Animal Home and the Fox Project. London Animal Day has raised over £2 million since it first started in 1936.
Volunteers can collect funds house-to-house or at designated supermarkets in the Metropolitan Police district (London and the suburbs) from 9 - 21 June. Collectors are also sought for flag days taking place in the City of London on 20 June, as well as in the Metropolitan District on 14 June. Volunteers can choose which of the seven charities they wish to support.
Pam says, "I'm delighted to be supporting London Animal Day again. I'm a big animal lover and I think all the charities involved do a wonderful job of promoting animal welfare, both in the capital and around the UK.
"All the charities help save the lives of animals on a daily basis and rely on the generosity of the public to raise funds to do so. PDSA, for example, provides free veterinary treatment to thousands of sick and injured pets every day. So, please consider volunteering for PDSA, or another animal charity of your choice, for London Animal Day, and help make this year's event bigger and better than ever."
Whether you can spare an hour or a whole day, the charity you choose to collect funds for will be delighted to receive your support.
