Deep cuts to the limbs usually will need stitching so ring your vet for advice.
- bathe the wound with salt water
- apply a sterile pad over the wound so that the bandage doesn't stick to the fur
- cover the wound with a light dressing of gauze. Never apply a dressing too tight as you may cut off the blood supply
