I've just been outside to clean out the rabbit run shared by my two rex rabbits and three guinea pigs, whom we believed to be all female.
Not so.
There are about 7 little bundles of baby bunny snuggled up together in a closed-off part of the hutch. Eyes aren't open and judging by the minute size of them I think they must be a couple of days old. I'm not even 100% sure which rabbit is the 'dad' although I have a pretty good idea.
Gave me a bit of a shock this morning, but now what? I think for the time being I'm just going to leave them where they are and not disturb them... but should I take the guinea pigs into a separate hutch? Do they need special food etc? None of them seem to be bothering each other at the moment, I've just got no idea what to do for the best as I was never expecting to be confronted with breeding bunnies!!
Hope someone can give a little bit of help here!! Thanks! x
