Hi All,
Along with the 'Monty' the snake I also have a gorgeous dwarf bunny originally named Thumper. It's been soooo hot recently - has anyone out there got any ideas on how I can make sure Thumper keeps his cool whilst I'm at work??!
Thanks!

If it's not possible to use a fan of some sort you could try to freeze small (not the large 2 litre bottles incase they knock them and they fall on your rabbit)plastic bottles of water and place them in a large bowl or something similar to stop it rolling away in the rabbit's hutch or cage. Or you could try freezing one or two large marble or ceramic tiles placed in the cage.

Hi there,
I have guinea pigs and I too worry myself silly about them in the hot weather. Guineas have no sweat glands so its very important to keep them cool.
I deal with it by freezing 2ltr bottles of water, wrapping them in a tea towel and then laying them down in a corner of the hutch so that they can lie against the bottle. Also, I give them extra cucumber and food with high water content so that they can get water from that if the water in the bottle gets too warm to drink. This has kept them safe and cool over 2 very hot summers now. In fact, their cage is the coolest place in the world. I often feel like getting in with them haha.
If your bunny lives in a wooden hutch outside, you can try draping a wet towel over the top.
Hope this helps
