Second Chance For Bereaved Canine Companions

Read more: Loss Dogs | Comments (0)

Do you ever wonder what would happen to your dog if something were to happen to you? Responsible dog owners know that they need to make sure their canine friend will be looked after, especially if they cannot rely on friends or family members to take on this huge responsibility.

Dogs Trust can help. The charity’s Canine Care Card scheme is a free service that will guarantee peace of mind, by ensuring that your dog’s future will be safe and happy after your lifetime. Carrying a Canine Care Card means that Dogs Trust will take up the responsibility of caring for and rehoming your faithful friend and because they never destroy a healthy dog, you can be assured that your dog will be safe. In the unlikely event that Dogs Trust cannot find your dog a home, they will look after him or her for the rest of their natural life.

But Dogs Trust can only do this if someone knows your wishes. The charity strongly recommends that you mention the care of your dog(s) in your Will, and fill out and carry the Canine Care Card.

Luckily for German Shepherd best friends Victoria and William, their owner did exactly this. The two companions are currently being cared for at Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre in Chestfield, after their owner sadly passed away, and are now looking for a new home together.

Victoria is an eight year old German Shepherd cross and William is a nine year old German Shepherd. Not only are they very friendly, they’re also extremely playful and love nothing better than a game of chase. As they came from an adult home, Dogs Trust would like them to go to a family with older children (teens upwards), as they are both energetic and strong. They both enjoy the company of other dogs, though they’re yet to be tested with cats.

If you think you could give Victoria and William a new start in life, please contact Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre Canterbury on 01227 792505.
